The Disciplined Collaboration in Professional Learning project supported teachers to identify and trial new ways of solving issues related to student learning, engagement and wellbeing. Professor Alma Harris and Dr Michelle Jones were engaged to work with eight schools across Australia to implement disciplined collaboration. The Disciplined Collaboration in Professional Learning approach to professional growth uses data to diagnose a problem related to student outcomes. Teachers then work collaboratively to solve the problem and use data to evaluate the extent of their success. This report describes disciplined collaboration, provides some background to the project and briefly summarises each school’s approach.
