School Leadership eCollection

About us

The School Leadership eCollection (SLeC) was developed in 2011 by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) in collaboration with Education Services Australia (ESA) under the Australian Government’s Smarter Schools National Partnerships with states and territories.

The SLeC aims to support the leadership capacity of current, emerging and aspiring school leaders through the collection and dissemination of the latest research, strategies and resources in the field.

The SLeC will be of interest to current and future principals, deputies, heads of department, policy makers, state bodies, academics and any others interested in school leadership development.

The resources to which the SLeC website links have been checked for relevance and appropriateness by AITSL or its contractors, however their inclusion on this site does not imply that AITSL endorses those resources. Likewise, exclusion from this site does not imply the opposite. It is the responsibility of each user to assess any resource found on this website to consider the relevance to the user’s situation and to evaluate the accuracy, reliability and significance of each of the resources.

Some of the resources to which the SLeC links are not publicly available but may be accessed on a pay-per-view basis, subscription basis, or by some other means. AITSL does not provide access to these resources; it is the responsibility of the users to obtain access in accordance with the terms proposed by the supplier or to make use of appropriate library subscription services in order to access licensed content.

The SLeC contains links to websites which may be of interest to users, but which are not owned or controlled by AITSL. AITSL does not bear any responsibility for the content contained on any external website.

AITSL has endeavoured to ensure that the SLeC does not contain any copyrighted material without permission of its owner. If it seems that some of the material on the website is being used without the appropriate permission, please report your concerns to AITSL.

The SLeC was developed by AITSL with Australian Government funds as part of the Smarter Schools National Partnerships and through the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
