The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) has launched its Term 1 back-to-school campaign, aimed at supporting both new and returning teachers and leaders as they start the 2025 school year.
AITSL’s Thrive in 2025 campaign features a curated list of tools and resources that teachers and principals can use at the start of the term and throughout the year.
“Our focus is on supporting teachers and leaders in getting set up for success. We know that a positive start to the school year is important for children and young people, teachers and school leaders” AITSL CEO, Tim Bullard, said.
“I’ve had the privilege of being invited to visit learning spaces to hear from children and young people about their learning. I have met the passionate teachers and leaders making a difference in the lives of their learners. They have a challenging, but ultimately rewarding, role, in this rapidly changing world.”
The Thrive in 2025 campaign will also feature educators sharing tried and tested strategies to support those new to the profession. With a focus on ‘teachers talking to teachers’, AITSL is highlighting the expertise and real-life teaching experiences from some of Australia’s educators and what has worked for them – both in and out of the classroom.
“Knowledge is power, and connection is key. We want to support teachers and leaders to really thrive and grow in their professional journeys, which is what this campaign is all about”, Mr Bullard said.
“We want to build the knowledge, skills and capabilities that ensures every teacher is well supported to grow and succeed, whether it is their first year or they have been in the profession a long time.
The curated list of AITSL’s tools and resources are aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and the Australian Professional Standard for Principals.
The campaign will also encourage teachers and leaders to collaborate with each other and share their own tips and strategies with their colleagues.
